Creating & Amending Your Profile

Having a profile on Creative Remedies is just like having your own mini web site It gives you a powerful platform to promote yourself to other Creative Remedies members and any other visitors to the site, so it is important to make it as informative and easy to find as possible. Your profile can be as simple or as complex as you like and we give you all the tools you need to get creative with the content you enter on to it. Lets take a look at how you set up and edit your profile:

When you have completed your initial registration screen, you are taken directly to your profile creation screen. This looks like this:

First of all you need to enter a name/title for your profile. This would typically be your name or organisation name.

Next you need to add a selection of 'keywords' or phrases that best describe the main areas of your activity you wish to promote. For example, if you are an artist that specialises in sculpture and have experience working with young offenders, you would type in "sculpture, young offenders" etc. into this box. You can add as many keywords or phrases as you like but please ensure they are relevant to your profile content.

Next you should add a few sentences that summarise your activities. This will be displayed on the search results pages when users search for content so ensure once again that the content is relevant.

Finally, you can start to add content into your actual profile. At the top of this box you will see a toolbar that is similar to the kind you will find in a typical word processing program. This provides you with numerous tools for entering various types of content and text/formatting functions which you can explore as you see fit. You can make your profile as simple or as complex as you wish and advanced users can use the HTML editor to customise their profile extensively. Don't be frightened to explore the various option on the toolbar - mistakes can always be undone using the undo button.

Note: If you are going to add images within your profile content, please ensure that they are sized correctly prior to upload and that the resolution of them is set to 72dpi.

You can amend your profile content as often as you wish simply by clicking the 'Amend Profile' option on your homepage. It is important that you keep your profile up to date.

Adding and Amending Projects and Event Information

If you are actively involved in any Arts and Health projects, we encourage you to add information about them to your profile. You can also add details of any forthcoming events you may wish to promote.

The process for entering the information for Projects and Events is identical to that of your profile. The only difference is that on entering an Event you will also be prompted to add the event date and venue details. In this case the date should always be entered in the following format: add/mm/yyyy. Eg. if you event is on 1st march 2007 then you should enter "01/03/2007".
